Manage matter participation
Members of the organization can be added as participants on a matter. Once a participant, the member can access the matter, its functions and all of its documents. Matter participants can be added at the time the matter is created or when required using the Matter edit function. Matter participation can be revoked at any time.
Standard subscribers are not able to add matter co-participants.
To view and edit matter participants, select the matter from the Matter List panel, then select the Edit ico option on the Matter Title Bar.
The Edit Matter view will list all existing participants.
Participants can be added and removed from this view:
Add a new participant
Only members of an organization may become participants and can be added by any existing Matter participant.
To add a participant, select the Select Participant field and start typing the name or email address of the member that needs to be added. A dropdown with all existing members that match the input criteria who are not already participants will appear. Select one or more members from the list and update the matter to save the changes.
Once a participant, a member will have access to all functions and matter documents.
Remove a participant
Existing matter participants and account administrators can remove matter participants. To remove a participant, select the Clear action for a participant and update the matter to save the changes.
Once removed as a participant, a member will no longer have access to its functions and documents.
Note:
- At least 1 participant is required.
- A member can remove themselves as a participant from a matter.
